There are experiences that point your life in a new, previously unknown leadership. In Venice he married Ida Cadorin, heiress to some legendary dynasty of painters who would call himself"Barbarigo", Paris became his second home alongside Venice, the karst and Dalmatian scene reminded him of their Mediterranean beliefs of his childhood. Anyone who slows down the karst through Trieste now off the highway, can meet them, the semi-wild horses galloping on the dry earth, the"Cavallini". They run throughout the region just like a mosaic of white rock splinters, appearing at Zoran Music using a kind of thoughtful comedy and painting them into their happy lack of background.
Too often, obviously, the image changes before his eyes. Subsequently the white rubble reminds him of the white skulls of the dead from Dachau and the horses remind him of an abysmal sense of freedom, a freedom he knows is constantly threatened. There's no optimism in songs for history, the experience remains incontrovertible. I've had closer contact with Zoran Music since 1988. I remember many hours we spent his Parisian studio and splendid home in Venice, the stories from his biography that summed up the Central European tragedies of the 20th century. Inside his domain name he always pretended to become autonomous, self-critically he occasionally refused impressive sheets and sheets, you had to convince him to not ruin anything.
